edit Walkthrough
Speak to Manni the Reveller, found in the Rellekka Longhall, to start the quest. He will give you a drink and requests that you invite Mawnis Burrowgar of Neitiznot and King Vargas of Miscellania to Chieftain Brundt's birthday feast.
Upon inviting one of them (either, it makes no difference), they reply saying they cannot go because it's a "world of trouble" and suggest you talk to Brundt as to why. Only one of the two rulers must be spoken to in order to progress.
Speak to the Chieftain, and you find out that he is angry at them too.

[edit] Brundt's story
During the cutscene, Brundt says that he, (Prince Vargas, Young Mawnis, Nial Swiftfling, along with Asleif the healer (this Asleif is the same woman as from the Mountain Daughter quest) were meant to go into battle, but were defeated and somehow found their way outside the Fishing Guild. They argued amongst themselves over what happened to the tablet they went to find, and then the cutscene ends. The Chieftain wants to find out who stole the tablet.
He also gives you Cave directions which will help you find the ice creatures' cave, but there's only one sentence which is useful to you. You will need to talk to Vargas and Mawnis to get the other two instructions.

Brundt's Story
[edit] Vargas' story
Go talk to King Vargas (Miscellania). He'll give his side of the story. Another cutscene will occur.
During the cutscene, the four adventurers encounter a horrifying monster, the Gnoeals, which curses Prince Vargas, but he defeats it nonetheless. Prince Vargas hits a 53, then 71 on the monster with a dragon longsword, which is impossible for a player to hit.
He reveals he doesn't remember Asleif helping any of them.
[edit] Mawnis' story
The cutscene starts after talking to Mawnis Burrowgar. It's revealed that the Gnoeals spat green goo at Nial, taking the full brunt of the attack. Aslief asks if anyone was hurt and Mawnis will say a little bit of it got on Vargas.
Nial turns into a yeti, and defeats the Gnoeals, but Nial is "quite out of his mind" and they all flee after going on a rampage.
[edit] Finding the ice creature's cave
Note: You must have the complete list of directions in order to find the cave.
Follow the instructions on the notes. You will find yourself at the polar hunting region. The fairy ring code DKS can teleport you close by. Head to the northwestern corner of the hunter area's upper platform and begin following the footprints that are there. Follow them to the block of ice just to the east and use the dig option while carrying a pickaxe. You MUST inspect all of the footprints, or else it won't let you dig.
NOTE: If you neglected to bring one you can use the eagles nearby to travel to the desert which has a bronze pickaxe spawn just southwest of the cave.

The ice cave before being dug out with a pickaxe.

Scrap of paper found on cave floor.
Once inside the cave, run to the far southwestern corner. There will be several level 90 Yetis and Gnoeals attacking you. NOTE: Low-leveled players may want to turn on Protect from Magic to prevent damage from the Gnoeals.
Go through the small opening, Battle with an aggressive lvl 156 Nial Swiftfling, in Yeti form. Nial attacks with melee and ranged and is reasonably powerful, so bring some good food. Nial is able to push you back, (like the Giant Roc during My Arm's Big Adventure or the Ice Troll King during Fremennik Isles) and will do so every three to four hits.
There is a safe spot on the western side of the cave where you fight, with the protect from range prayer on you will take no damage aside from when it roars.

Safe spot!
NOTE: If you happen to die while fighting the yeti, a grave marker does not appear. If you happen to kill the yeti and die at the same time, you will have to kill it again to receive the items necessary to finish the quest.
When defeated, he will drop the following;
Herb pouch
Nial's throwing axe
Unfinished astral rune
Yeti hair
and some Big bones (which can be buried).
NOTE: If after you have killed Nial and got all his items and "Mawnis has given me his part of the directions to the cave. Once I've investigated there, I need to speak to his sister, Freygerd, in Jatizso." is NOT crossed out, go back in the cave again, kill Nial and pick up everything he drops - you will get a few of the same items. You will get that crossed out and you may go talk to Freygerd on Jatizso. (Leave the cave. The tracks are now gone.)
edit Happiness for Mawnis
Head to Jatizso, and speak with Freygerd who can be found in the southwest corner of the city, tell her you've "put Nial to rest" and she is relieved. She wants to move back to Neitiznot, but King Gjuki Sorvott IV has threatened her with an emigration tax.
After having a delightful chat with the king, Freygerd doesn't have to pay the tax. After giving her Nial's throwing axe she tells you to go to her brother, Mawnis Burrowgar and tell him the good news. (That she, Freygerd, is moving back to Neitiznot)
edit Happiness for Vargas

The transformation from Yeti into a human.
NOTE- you will need to be using the normal spell book during this part of the quest.
Talk to King Vargas again. After talking about the Herb pouch you will need to give it back to Aslief.
Head to Mountain Camp. You will need to take your plank, an empty vial, Yeti hair, Herb pouch, Earth (10) and cosmic runes (1), Pestle and mortar and one Clean irit with you. Before proceeding, take a pole from the Goat's pen in the mountain camp if you haven't already got one from the Mountain Daughter quest.
(Optional: Bring the Seal of passage, to save an extra bank trip, after the quest)
Climb the tree, use the pole on rocks, and use a plank on the flat stone to get to middle of the lake. Talk to Asleif by left-clicking on the "shining pool". Asleif reveals that King Vargas' story was all a lie, but only because he is a proud man. He doesn't remember Asleif helping him because he chooses not to.
Use your empty vial with the spring next to you and add Clean irit to the vial. Open the Herb pouch and you will get a Diamond root. Grind it with Pestle and Mortar. You will now have Diamond root dust. Enchant it with 10 earth runes or wielding an Earth staff and 1 Cosmic rune. Note that you Cannot use an enchant diamond tablet here. Then add the Enchanted diamond root dust to the irit mixture and then add the Yeti hair.
NOTE: If you have lost your yeti hair, you don't have to kill Nial again; the smaller yetis also drop yeti hair.
Now you have Yeti curse cure.
Take it to King Vargas, and he will turn back into a human. He will now agree to attend the feast.
edit Brundt remembers
Once again travel to Rellekka and talk to Brundt the Chieftain. After showing him the Unfinished astral rune he will remember how they got to the Fishing guild.
A cutscene will start adding a new person called "Mysterious Mage" who turns out to be Baba Yaga of the Moon Clan. She teleported them all out of the cave to the Fishing guild, erased their memories and teleported away with the Prophecy Tablet, leaving them to argue amongst themselves where Brundt told the story the first time.
Now that you have made everyone happy, they all will attend the feast.
Talk to Manni the Reveller after the cutscene and quest complete
